The Jakarta administration said Thursday it would set up a provincial-owned mass rapid transportation (MRT) firm next month to manage the operation of the city’s MRT in 2012.
Governor Fauzi Bowo said his administration had sent the draft bylaw on MRT firm to the Jakarta Legislative Council.
“We can’t wait anymore to set up this firm as we need to operate the city’s MRT four years from now,” he said.
The planned MRT firm will be owned by the City administration and provincial-owned company PD Pasar Jaya.
