What does that title mean?

Javanese people should drop by to this small restaurant “Gudeg Yogya Pejompongan.” I found it by accident as I was about to take cash from an ATM in Benhil, Central Jakarta. Starving, looking around, and then finding this restaurant Gudeg Yogya Pejompongan. The location is quite near Mintoharjo hospital, benhil.

It’s not like a restaurant, instead it’s more like a home. There is no welcoming note, just a small board hanging on the wall read Gudeg Yogya Pejompongan.

So I tried this one, without any expectation as gudeg, although very popular in Yogyakarta, never really win customers outside the province.

Well, several buyers queued up ordering food at that time, but I was not impressed yet because I thought they might not have another choice of gudeg. As I was getting closer and closer to the food, the smell of the food struck me. It seemed delicious and I was right, it was one of the most delicious gudeg in Jakarta. The price was quite okay as rice with chicken, tempeh and tea will cost you about Rp 21,000. Fair price with good quality.

Next time I should take picture of the gudeg as now I become a regular visitor at the restaurant.

So try this restaurant Javanese people, or even if you are not Javanese, try the difference from your local food. Then you will appreciate this country much better.

Food and the country..hm looks an interesting topic to write.

Next is Dapur Solo of Blok M and Warung Makan Mbah Jingkrak alias Warung Makan Mbah Ferrari (Kuda Jingkrak kali ya..eheheh)
