Fuel prices up 30%, Angkot fares up 25%, no rise in Busway fare

I took a busway on Saturday following the government announcement that fuel prices rose around 30 %. The busway fare remained the same at Rp 3,500. But angkot fares up from Rp 2,000 to 2, 500. What is angkot? Angkot is a public transportation in Jakarta (and the whole country as well) comprising minibus and van.

Not yet trying ojek, but I believe ojek drivers will also increase the fares. Usually for a short distance, we only pay Rp 4,000-5,000, but now I still don’t know yet.

I’ll buy mie ayam (chicken noodle) tonight just to check whether the prices increase or not.
Rice price? let’s see.

I really don’t understand the decision to increase the fuel prices at the moment. The money in the state budget is the people money managed by the government. Now the government is more worried about the money than the people.

When the government can’t handle the state budget, it throws the burden to the people. And when the people can’t handle the burden because most of all goods prices rise, where they should go?

Committing suicide? I don’t think I am going to vote you Mr President and Vice President. You disappoint us. We need a new face, a fresh idea, and a novel breakthrough.

  1. Agree! Gue nggak akan pilih mereka lagi.. but the problem is : Who is the next Capable President?

  2. Ya begitulah. Udah gitu mereka bilang ini bukan soal popular decision, it ’s about necessary decision. Ya necessary decision to save state budget but to sacrifice people. Wah untung rakyat nggak se radikal orang philippines, Coba kalo se kuat sana, bisa ada people power.
